The core of our technology relies on the automated extraction of data from various websites. There is not a lot of straight programming involved in this position, but having a background in coding is usually needed to be efficient at the process. You should also know Regular Expressions and be very familiar with the way requests and responses work on the web, like being able to tell the difference between a GET and a POST.
The job is fairly flexible. We are located in Dupont, WA, but you would only need to come to the office a couple times a week. The rest would be work from home, totaling at least 25-30 hours a week. The position is great for full time employment, but also optimal for student life or work on the side.
Required Skills:
- Background in Computer programming (Java is preferred, but other experience works)
- Regular Expressions
- Ability to quickly read through HTML and know what's going on.
- Familiarity with web requests of various types (HTTP, AJAX, JSON, ASPX, etc)
Optional (Bonus) Skills:
- Previous web extraction experience, especially with the above-mentioned software
- GWT (Google Web Toolkit)
- PHP/Drupal
- Mobile Development
